Welcome to the Student Support Guide
An online guide to finding mental health support in Cambridge.
WHY DO WE NEED
Our mental health is complex and highly personal. Sometimes, through no fault of our own, we struggle to cope with our mental health. Seeking help is a sign of strength. We believe that mental illness should be treated the same way as physical illness. With treatment and appropriate care, people can learn to manage or recover from mental health problems.
HOW CAN YOU ACCESS SUPPORT?
On this site you'll find a lot of information on the great range of services providing mental health support to Cambridge students.
Whichever service you approach first will help you to find the support you need, and this may involve directing you to a service better suited to your needs.
The key is taking the first step, so our advice is simply to approach whoever you feel most comfortable with.
SUPPORTING YOURSELF AND FRIENDS
One of the best things you can do for your mental wellbeing is to practice self-care. Self-care is a term that has been getting a lot of press recently, but what does it mean? Check out our page on self-care for tips about supporting yourself.
Many people look to their friends for support, so it is good for everyone to read up on how best to support loved ones because, chances are, someone you care about may one day look to you for support. Check out our page on supporting others for some guidance about helping your friends and loved ones.
