Cambridge Women's Aid

Cambridge Women's Aid provides dedicated, specialist, services to women and children affected by domestic abuse. It can provide information, advice and support to women experiencing a range of abuse; where someone close to them is causing them harm by using any of a range of abusive behaviours, which may include physical, emotional, sexual, psychological or financial abuse.

CWA runs a helpline which can be contacted from 9am to 6pm on weekdays, for free and confidential advice. Women from any background can call CWA about past abuse, current abuse, or any fears about future abuse, including those who don’t know what to do, or who may not feel that they want to leave their relationship. If desired, an appointment can be made to meet someone from CWA one-to-one, or to attend support groups for women in order to explore the dynamics of abusive relationships and to provide group and peer support. Whilst CWA does not offer specialist support for men, their website does provide links to such support.
